Shelby Brogdon, OD, is a native Arkansan, practicing at McFarland Eye Care in Little Rock. Dr. Brogdon loves seeing patients of all ages and is passionate about leading her practice’s Dry Eye Clinic.
She is an active member of the Arkansas Optometric Association where she serves on several committees and is a recent graduate of their LEADership program.
Dr. Brogdon graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word, Rosenberg School of Optometry.
Andrew Bruce, LDO, ABOM, NCLEM, FCLSA, is a licensed optician and contact lens fitting specialist, and founder of ASB Opticianry Education Services in Vancouver, Wash.
A speaker, industry consultant, technical writer, and CE author, he is also an adjunct professor for the Optician Assistant Program at Portland Community College.
Mr. Bruce has served on the Washington State Dispensing Optician Examination Committee and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the CLSA, in addition to its education committee.
Ariel Cerenzie, OD, FAAO, FSLS, recently opened Charlotte Contact Lens Specialists in Charlotte, N.C. Her practice is dedicated to prescribing contact lenses of various modalities specific to patients’ needs, as well as myopia management and dry eye care.
She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Scleral Lens Education Society and is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control.
Dr. Cerenzie attended the University of Houston College of Optometry and completed a cornea and contact lens residency at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry.
Angelica Cifuentes, OD, is a first generation, bilingual, board-certified optometrist practicing in Miami, Fla., and is the CEO and co-founder of Bye Dry Eyes.
Dr. Cifuentes’ clinical training includes diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, contact lenses, low vision, pediatric and geriatric eye exams as well as comprehensive primary eye care. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association and Miami-Dade Optometric Physicians Association.
Dr. Cifuentes is passionate about eye health awareness, education and mentoring future optometrists. She earned her doctorate from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.
Jade Coats, OD, works in an OD/MD practice, McDonald Eye Associates in Fayetteville, AR, and has dedicated the majority of her clinical practice to ocular disease, comprehensive eye care, perioperative care, and contact lenses.
Dr. Coats is frequently published and serves on the editorial advisory boards of Optometry Times and Presbyopia Physician. A 2022 graduate of the AOA Leadership Institute, she also is a board member of the Intrepid Eye Society and YoungODConnect.
She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Arkansas Optometric Association, and the Arkansas Optometry Association AOP-PAC Committee. She attended the Southern College of Optometry.
Sabrina Gaan, OD, owns Eyes on Plainville in Plainville, Mass., a fast-growing, three-doctor practice. In addition to being an advocate of soft contact lens wear, she has a particular interest in orthokeratology and dry eye therapy.
Dr. Gaan earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from San Jose State University and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry.
Lisa Hornick, OD, FAAO, currently practices full-scope optometry at Stanford Ranch Optometry in Rocklin, Calif.
With more than 20 years of clinical experience, she is therapeutics- and glaucoma-certified, a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and president-elect of the Sacramento Valley Optometric Association.
Dr. Hornick has lectured on dry eye disease across the U.S. and Canada, and has published on dry eye disease, nutrition and glaucoma. She received her doctorate in optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry.
Klaus Ito, OD, FAAO practices at Ocean Park Optometry in Santa Monica, Calif. He received his degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University School of Optometry. Dr. Ito completed his residency in ocular disease and cornea and contact lens at The University of Virginia Department of Ophthalmology, where he treated a wide array of anterior segment conditions with various types of contact lenses.
Mila Ioussifova, OD, FAAO, opened her boutique-style private practice, South Waterfront Eye Care in Portland, OR, in 2013, offering advanced dry eye treatments, nutritional counseling, and aesthetic services to treat the whole person.
She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, as well as active with the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association, American Nutrition Association, and the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society.
She served as an adjunct clinical faculty member at the Pacific University College of Optometry and was an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
She is a graduate of the New England College of Optometry and completed a residency program in community health and ocular disease, and is in the process of becoming a Certified Nutrition Specialist.
Essence Johnson, OD, FAAO, is an “HBCU made,” residency trained community and correctional health optometrist.
As the executive director of Black Eyecare Perspective, she is passionate about improving patients’ health and achieving health equity among underrepresented populations.
Dr. Johnson graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University and completed a residency in ocular disease at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta.
Inna Lazar, OD, is the founder of Greenwich Eye Care in Old Greenwich, Conn., Pro Eye Care in Darien, Conn., and Eyecare From the Heart.
Dr. Lazar is a speaker, healthcare consultant, and advisor to major eye care companies, was named by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Eye Doctors of 2022, and is a Lions Club Ambassador of Sight honoree.
As a digital creator, educator, and co-founder of the Instagram Live series “Transparent” and “My Dry Eye Box,” Dr. Lazar uses her platform to educate about the importance of eye care and practice management.
She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University) with extensive training in advanced ocular surface disease and myopia management.
Jennifer Lyerly, OD, practices at TrueVision Eye Care in Raleigh, N.C. where she specializes in contact lenses and myopia management.
She’s the co-founder of Defocus Media, the optometry livestream and podcast platform, and author of Eyedolatry, an educational blog that focuses on patient communication.
She has also written articles for multiple professional publications, and currently serves on the Forbes Health Advisory Board.
Diana Mejia, has worked as an optometric technician with Bellaire Family Eye Care in Bellaire, Texas since 2018, and held numerous positions in the optometry field in the years prior.
She is well-versed in all preliminary and special testing procedures, in addition to contact lens ordering, assisting with in-office procedures, and offering insertion and removal classes for soft, rigid, and specialty contact lenses.
Patrick Sayo, has been a technician at the practice of Drs. Farkas, Kassalow, Resnick and Associates, P.C. in New York City since 2007.
He is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for patients using his extensive experience and knowledge, especially in the areas of contact lens care and dry eye treatment.
Mark Schaeffer, OD, serves as clinical field manager at MyEyeDr in Birmingham, Ala. His areas of expertise include ocular disease and contact lenses.
He is a founding member of the Intrepid Eye Society. Dr. Shaeffer is a member of the Alabama and American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry and the Contact Lens and Cornea Section.
